HOLA FAMILY!!!!

After 179 days Vivi has finally come to Japan.

May 25th marked a new era for us, a new beginning, a fresh start. And to celebrate, we went on a “Tokyo honeymoon.”

First, we started by visiting some of Tokyo’s most popular places, including a walk along Omotesando, also known as the Champs Elysees of Tokyo. It’s a beautiful tree-lined street filled with stores, foreigners and mostly young people.

At the end of the street we came to Yoyogi Park, in Harajuku. We went inside and to Meiji Temple, probably Tokyo’s most famous temple. After taking a few pictures, we headed back out and to Roppongi, another one of Japan’s “foreign” districts. After looking around Roppongi Hills for a few minutes, we had lunch there and then some ice cream by Tokyo Midtown.

Our plan was to go to Tokyo Tower to enjoy the view of Tokyo, but we were both really tired so we went back home and called it a day.

Next day, we woke up early and took the train to Asakusa, where we would take the Sumida River Cruise. We went down Sumida River, going under more than 10 bridges, switched boats at Hinode and finally got to Odaiba.

Odaiba is an artificial island east of Tokyo filled with restaurants, shops, museums, and many attractions. From the spectacular view in Odaiba, we took several pictures of Tokyo, including Rainbow Bridge, a replica of the Statue of Liberty and the cityscape.

Next, we headed towards Fuji TV, where we enjoyed an even better view from its 24th floor. We had an amazing lunch overlooking the Sumida River and Tokyo downtown.

After lunch, we walked to Palette Town, where we rode a giant Ferrys Wheel for a panoramic view at over 150m high. We also visited Toyota’s showcase and rode an automatic car around the complex. Then, we visited some of the stores and played a few games at Tokyo’s Leisure Center. That was all for day two.

On day 3, we went to Tokyo Disneyland at night. We got on most rides and visited Mickey’s and Roger Rabbit’s homes. The hightlight of the night was riding Splash Mountain, a fast western-themed rollercoaster that goes around and “inside” a huge mountain.

There are still many things we want to do and experience here in Tokyo, but these first days have been great and we’ve had a lot of fun!

Cuidense mucho y los queremos y extranamos mucho, especialmente a MAMITA!
